William Ray, “Bill” to his friends, spent nearly forty years as a research mathematician and academic administrator. You can find his professional resume on his website. When he retired in 2018, he intended to embark on a new career of academic consulting and created WilliamRayServices.Com. Over the years, his avocation as a fiction author took increasing amounts of his attention, and the consulting enterprise never got started.
Today, under the pen name Max Griffin, he has authored eight novels and two collections of short stories. In 2024, he founded Crosstimbers Publications and the periodical Tales from the Crosstimbers.

It is primarily for fiction authors whose work will appear or is under serious considertion for appearing under the Crosstimbers imprint, but is also open for occassional paying customers seeking critiques of their fictional works.
